It’s been an incredibly hard week. Today I began re-establishing my routine which includes quiet walks in nature. I’m still overwhelmed by things that happened, it will take time to heal but I feel incredibly grateful to those who have been there for me with their kind words, encouragement, understanding and support. Perhaps one day I will share what exactly unfolded openly but right now it just breaks my heart in ways I can’t quite articulate. So, I will stick to expressing sincere appreciation to those who have lifted me up along the way ❤️.

Today and always I am thankful. To those who fought and served, to those who fight and serve, to those who lost their lives, to the animals who lost their lives too. To the families who miss their loved ones, to those forever scarred. Thank you. Lest we forget ❤️ ~ Imagine all the people, living life in peace. I miss baking sourdough but all this damp fall weather means I’m not able to keep a healthy and happy starter. For now I will bake other things like these mini pizzas for lunches! I have much of this fantastic book by @alchemybread memorized but I always pull it out just in case. ✨ pretty farmhouse plate by @shedpottery 💕

Nature is incredible 🦌

I’m so grateful to have received this beautiful coyote travel mug from Kentia @terrefermepottery . One of my favourite things about winter is hearing the coyotes in the fields nearby so clearly. Life has been chaotic lately but this incredibly kind gesture is like the warmest hug from afar. It also serves as a reminder that the storm will pass. I’m so happy to have another beautiful handmade piece to add to my collection. 💕

These are too cute, I just had to share them! Super festive macarons made by @cakeandloafbakery . Halloween is my favourite. Zero pressure to be jolly, no social obligations (unless you want them!), can be done on the tightest of budgets AND you can freely be who ever the heck you want to be! 🎃

These nutrition packed muffins are flourless but you would never know. Recipe is Healthy Chocolate Muffins (with Butternut Squash) by @thenaturalnurturer and it’s completely adaptable to suit your needs. The plate is the bottom of a butter dish (top is long gone) made by my nana in 1982 alongside her friend Tony who is the creative behind Rockcliffe Pottery. This dish is where my love of functional handmade pieces began and I am so thankful it found it’s way to me so it can be loved for years to come. ✨
